Know Your Rights! - Rhode Island Laws To Protect Breastfeeding Mothers
R.I. Gen. Laws § 23-13.5 (2008) allows a woman to breastfeed or bottle-feed her child in any place open to the public and allows her a private cause of action for denial of that right. (HB 7467B, SB 2283A)
R.I. Gen. Laws § 23-13.2-1 (2003) requires employers to reasonably accommodate a breastfeeding mother by providing flexible breaks and a safe, clean, private place to pump or breastfeed her child. (HB 5507A, SB 0151A)
R.I. Gen. Laws § 11-45-2 (1998) protects mothers breastfeeding in public from disorderly conduct laws. (HB 8103, SB 2319)

Lactation Cookie Recipe

Ingredients for 2 dozen cookies:
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 7/8 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon flax seed meal
1 eggs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/3 cups oats
1 cup chocolate chips
2 tablespoon brewer’s yeast
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°.
Mix the flaxseed meal and water and let sit for 3-5 minutes.
Beat butter, sugar, and brown sugar well.
Add eggs and mix well.
Add flaxseed mix and vanilla, beat well.
Sift together flour, brewers yeast, baking soda, and salt.
Add dry ingredients to butter mix.
Stir in oats and chips.
Scoop onto baking sheet.
Bake for 12 minutes.
Let set for a couple minutes then remove from tray.
